Having a custom closet installed can bring your entire home up a notch in terms of its level of sophistication. When it comes to ideal closets, so many of our clients have such particular ideas about what they do and don't want to see the final product look like. And they always ask for many things in their custom closets — trends.

 

Darker Woods

In fact, one of the biggest trends in custom closets these days is to go with darker woods. More so than in the past, a lot of people are going with darker woods right now when they re-design their closet.

 

Sliding-Door Systems

Furthermore, we can do a lot of cool things with the closet doors themselves, turning what was once a boring bedroom door into an actual design element with different colors of glass, different types of woods, and virtually any texture you can think of. These sliding-door systems that we can custom install are really popular and trendy right now.

 

Pull-Down Shelving

In addition to the creative design, ideally, custom closets can be about function as well. One example of this is with the pull-down shelving that we can install in closets to help handicapped people who can't reach as high. These unique systems have a grab bar that people can use to pull the clothes down to them.

 

This grab bar is also a great way to improve the functionality of closets with extremely high ceilings. Rather than wasting the space up top, we can install this pull-down shelving system that gives people a way to use even more of their closet space.

 

Price

On the other hand, all these features do come at a price. If you are looking to install a custom system in your master closet, you should expect to spend anywhere from $2,000 to $4,000 for the materials and installation. For a reach-in closet that is a standard size of about 8-feet long, meanwhile, you could expect to spend anywhere from $800 to $1,500 on the project.
