How do I disconnect the refrigerant line couplers to the evaporator on a '03 Dodge Ram 1500?

I have already unpressurized the system, but this type of coupler is new to me - It has a plastic locks that can be removed by hand. I have removed the locks, but it almost looks like the lines have some kind of seal surrounding the flanges where the lines come together. Can the lines just be pulled apart at this point? Is the o-ring sticking them together?

those are just quick connect fittings you will need a tool that goes around the line and pushes in to release a spring to let them come apart. you can usually find a set at a local parts store(cheap plastic ones will do).
