Enjoy Long Trips with Car Roof Racks

Digital technology has penetrated every aspect of our life today. Absence of internet connection makes most of our lives become difficult and meaningless. It is through the internet connection that we keep in touch with friends and family when we are away from them. Moreover the internet connection is also important for professional purposes as well. That is for conducting business we require the internet connection to a large extent.

At such a juncture if the modem goes bad then you are real in problem. Moreover if you are living in a distant place then the problem is even more. This is because you may have to wait for many days before you get a technician to repair your modem and if replacement is needed then you might have to wait even longer.

The whole scenario changes if you are living in the city. The service provider can come to your place on the very same day and if you can attend the technician you can also go to a service center and get hold of the necessary equipments.

It is true that staying in the city has lot of advantages but many of the times it is seen that most of the urban people seek for a break from their city life from time to time. The best break from the city can be going close to the nature. Nature has a healing touch on the stressed out souls.

But the problem in these nature trips is that there is lack of sufficient space in your car. Due to this dearth of space in the car people try to leave out the outside gear. But if you install the car roof rack there is no need for you leave out the outside gear.

The car roof racks can be of great advantage in your cars. With the installation of one of these racks there is no need for you to worry about the constraint of space which you are likely to face in the long nature trips. As you install these racks whole of the family can fit in the car and enjoy the trip. In these cars with the roof racks you can include the kayaks, skis, bicycles, canoes and a lot more. Also you can take all the other things which will enhance the experiences of your journey.

Whats the Best Canoe/Kayak Rack for a Nissan Sentra?

Hey. I want to get into canoeing and kayaking. Unfortunately I don't have an SUV or truck, but Im thinking about getting a roof rack for a couple of kayaks for my 2003 Nissan Sentra. Any suggestions on what type to get...or where to get one? Thanks!

If you do it a lot, look at Yakima or Thule racks. Not interchangeable, but those are the big names in high-quality gear racks. Yaks, bikes, skiis, etc. For all kinds of different vehicles. Their websites can match your vehicles with your toy and give you the options. REI and NRS would both be good retailers and mail-order options.

Less convenient but much cheaper and more compact: there are dense foam saddles that fit the round bottom of a kayak and make it sit flat on a roof. About $10 each. REI has them. You'd use two per boat and place a strap over each one and the boat. Then run the straps through your windows or between the door and roof. This works best with one boat. With two boats, you want a spacer between the boats.

National rafting supply has great straps:

And good straps make a huge difference. DON'T use bungies. They won't hold against the cornering and aerodynamic forces. Get about 4 12-footers and 2 20-footers. Great for when you haul plywood, refridgerators, etc, too. (which I've done repeatedly on a Corolla).

If your boats are heavy for you to lift, there's a roller system that you place one end of the boat on. Then lift the other end and push it the rest of the way onto the roof. Then strap it down. You only have to lift half the boat weight at a time, even by yourself.
