How do I keep the dog from eating my cats poop?

I have tried everything I can. The litter box is one with a cover on it. I clean it at least twice a day but the dog ( a female pit) still treats it as a snack tray. (I don't know how she gets her big head through that little hole)
I feed my dog Pedigree adult complete nutrition chunks. Could she still be missing something in her diet? And if so, what could she possibly get from cat poop?

I'm gagging now reading this question. What you should do is put some kind of odor repellent or something near the cat box. That's what I would do. Or turn it to where the hole faces the wall and the dog can't get to it.
