Ancient Massage Techniques for Tired Bodies

When we get a headache, we intuitively start massaging our temples.  Understandably, massage is one of the oldest and most natural types of curing.  And if we work on the basis that 90 percent of all sickness are brought about by stress, the most important thing a massage can do is alleviate you of the stress.  Its physical benefits of easing muscle strain and improving circulation go well with the mental assistance of total relaxation.

Physical therapists administer massage to calm down patients before other means of therapy or modalities are applied.  If the reason for the pain is just muscle cramps, then the massage will mitigate it.  But if the source is neurological, such as nerve impingement, some other modalities have to be administered.

Do-It-Yourself MassageGet respite from the following body aches and pains with some of these suggested simple strokes:

Headaches.  Apply pressure on your temples using your thumbs.  Breathe deeply and rotate your thumbs.

Tense Shoulders.  Place your right hand on your left shoulder and gently squeeze using your palm and fingers.  Hold for several seconds before releasing.  Do the same with the other shoulder.

Tired Hands.  Massage one palm with the thumb of the other hand.  Using your thumb, you can make circular movements around the base of the palm.

Backaches.  Place your hands, fingers pointing downwards, on the lower back at either side.  Apply pressure going down firmly, ‘fanning" your hands over your hips, and slide back.

Aching legs.  Place a hand on each side of your ankle and massage well up the calf to the knee.  Do the same with the other leg.

Stiff Knee.  Apply finger pressure around the knee, then massage behind it.  Do the same on the other leg.

Different Types of MassageMassages are always a pleasurable experience and they come in different methods.

Reflexology.  This method of massage focuses on precise areas on the hands or feet which are identified nerve centers.  A systematic hand-and-foot massage can revitalize a weary body.  Reflexologists even claim that sick organs can be healed by working on their matching nerve points in the hands and feet.

Shiatsu.  A Japanese massage technique which applies dry finger pressure to exact body sites or pressure points.  For example, working on the nerve points across the tops of the shoulders can ease tension and headaches.

Swedish. Applies techniques such as effleurage (long stroking movements), tapotment (cupping, slapping and chopping with the hands), petrissage (rhythmic lifting, squeezing and rolling of muscles with the hands), and friction (rapid swaying movements that are soothing to stiff joints).  It intends to encourage relaxation, improve circulation and develop muscle tone.

Good bigginer yoyo to buy?

I got three yoyo;s. All duncan.
A butterfy one, a imperial and a mosquito.
I use the butterly one and imperial but I kinda think they suck. Im not really sure though, if its the yoyo the string, or myself. So anyways the problems I have is with throwing a sleeper. It alwats sways to the sides starts spinning and everything gets messed up. How can I trhough a perfect sleeper that the yo yo wont go to the sides? So I could do some tricks. Also if ur wondering why I dont use the mosquito, its because I dont whant to wear out the bearing and the friction stickers, at least until im intermediate or something, thanks!

Check out Hobby Warehouse. They offer a variety of beginner YoYo's for inexpensive prices! Arsa Toys might too, but I buy from both stores because they both have great customer service and seem to know what they're talking about.
