Nashua, NH – The FastCamera-CCD series by FastVision is the latest series of high-speed smart cameras based on the newest Kodak Interline KAI CCD imagers with an global electronic shutter. These exceptional cameras have a high-speed, scaleable, integrated FPGA and processor subsystem with memory to enable stand-alone high speed in-camera image processing. When integrated with a camera link framegrabber/coprocessor board, the resulting system capabilities are expanded by adding processors and memory on the board according to the needs of the user.

The series of cameras offered by FastVision, supports a wide range of custom user selected ROIs and operating modes. FastCamera-CCD cameras boast a wide range of available real-time algorithms such as image storage of up to 800 full size frames at full speed without compression, image averaging, by pixel gain and offset calibration, image sub-sampling, convolution filtering and much more. The system can also be outfitted with dedicated software to perform gauging, tooling and pattern matching in the camera, making it a stand-alone system for real-time, flexible measurement and pattern analysis applications.

The first in this series is the FC34, a 640x480 sensor that can capture at over 210 fps. This smart camera includes a Nexperia PNX1502/ PNX1702 image processor/FPGA/memory subsystem that can process image data from the sensor in real time. Programming tools allow this camera to be a customizable stand-alone image processing system for complex applications including object recognition, defect classification and customer imaging algorithms. Other cameras in the series offer equally impressive capabilities that meet the most challenging demands of the fast image processing.

difference between IR Camera and CCD Camera in CCTV System?

Can anyone help me in finding out the explanation between IR Camera & CCD Camera. I need to prepare a project report on this, please

IR = infrared, refers to the frequency spectrum of light (color). There are two commonly used IR bands for imaging. Near-IR is just outside the region of colors we can see. People use near IR to take interesting pictures and can be used to view an unlit area, as perceived by humans, that is illuminated by a near-IR light (humans can't see the near-IR light source). This has been used in wildlife photography and surveillance. Thermal-IR is a spectral band where heat is emitted. Thermal-IR is far away from our visual capability. This requires a special imaging sensor and lens. Thermal IR cameras image the heat radiated off surfaces. These cameras generally start off at $10,000 for cheap systems.

CCD = charge coupled device, a type of image sensor used in cameras. CCD sensors can sense light in the near UV down to near IR. CCD sensors can't be used to image thermal-IR. Filters are usually placed in front of the sensor to block UV and IR so just the visible spectrum is sensed.
